ARTSEDGE is Moving!

We’ve got some news to share here at Kennedy Center Education.  It’s been a long time in the making, so we’re thrilled to announce that we’re moving our collection of media-rich arts learning resources to a new, mobile-optimized platform. In other words, Digital Learning will soon have a new home.

First: don’t worry. ARTSEDGE (this online destination) will still remain as we transition, for the many of you who may have bookmarked certain resources. We’ll keep it live while we migrate content over to the new platform in a phased approach. Now that we’ve said that—onto the exciting bits.

The name of the game here is access, really. As many of you know, we’d outgrown the current website, originally launched in 1996 (!), in many ways. We’ve been doing the painstaking work of strategically updating our resources to align with today’s classrooms, technologies and learning standards. To make them visually engaging, easy to use and relevant for educators.

We’ve started with some of the most-used resources for educators: best-practice how-tos, tipsheets, standards-aligned lessons and media-rich content designed to engage learners of all abilities. We’ll continue to optimize, update and migrate content to the new site—and we’ll be folding in brand new content along the way.

Where will this collection live, you ask? On the Kennedy Center website! As education is so central to the mission of the Center, it makes sense to fold the ARTSEDGE digital collection into the website—giving educators one destination to access all that Kennedy Center Education offers.

All of these exciting details will be forthcoming in January—but we wanted to give you a quick heads up to say: this is coming. And it’s all in the name of better serving you and your learners—to help foster creativity, empathy and better understanding of the world we live in through the arts.

Have a wonderful winter break! If you have any questions, please feel free to ask via dbxster at gmail dot com
