The Thinkfinity Education Speaker Series, a series of video interviews with nationally known individuals with a passion for education, is available exclusively to all members of the Thinkfinity Community. Enjoy our video interviews and supporting resources as they become available simply by logging in – no additional registration or live participation is required.

September 27: U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor

After 25 years on the nation’s highest court, Justice O’Connor has set her sights on civics education, developing an innovative online program to inspire students to actively participate in democracy. We will discuss the iCivics program and the importance of civics education. Interviewer: Michael Koren, winner of the 2010 Teacher of the Year Award

October 18: Dr. Benjamin Carson

Dr. Benjamin Carson is world renowned as the first neurosurgeon to successfully separate Siamese twins joined at the brain. Dr. Ben Carson continues to pioneer life-saving medical procedures as Chief of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center, and attributes his professional success to the confidence gained through educational achievement.

November 1: Earvin "Magic" Johnson

Magic Johnson is an NBA legend, chairman and CEO of Magic Johnson Enterprises, and a philanthropist committed to empowering individuals through education. Magic Johnson’s early interest in economics fueled a successful career off the court and his Community Empowerment Centers have invigorated ethnically diverse urban communities for 20 years. Interviewer: Rose Kirk, President, Verizon Foundation

November 15: Dr. Chris Dede

Dr. Chris Dede is an expert on emerging technologies, augmented and virtual reality. As the Timothy E. Wirth Professor in Learning Technologies at Harvard’s Graduate School of Education, Dr. Chris Dede has revolutionized the way we learn using digital games and virtual worlds. He is the at the forefront of understanding the implication of teaching with new technologies.

December 6: Jason Falls

Jason Falls is a ground-breaking educator and visionary, exploring and explaining the role technology and social media play in 21st century education. Jason Falls is the most in-demand speaker on the subject, known for his signature bluntness and startling insight.
