Unit Overview:
Both Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Antonin Dvorak spent time in the New World. They were anxious to tell other people of their experiences and what they thought about America. Through online research, as well as reading, writing, and poetry activities, higher-level beginning ESOL students at the high school level—who also are living in a new world—will share in and compare those experiences with their own.
Lesson Overviews:
Students learn about the Russian composer Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky and his visit to the United States.
Students study Antonin Dvorak and his extended stay in America.
