Behind the Scenes with the Stanislavsky

December 7 Load In
rotating images

By late November, the sets were already on a ship bound for the US. They arrived at the Kennedy Center on December 7th, and that night the stage crews began laying down the dance floor, hanging lights and loading in scenery.

One of the first things that has to be done is laying down the sprung floor and Marley, a special dance surface that helps the dancers move more easily (and helps protect them from stress-injuries from dancing on uneven flooring). After the Marley is laid the scenery can be hung and the light trusses flown.
