The
Face of Russia is a PBS site constructed around its successul television
series. PBS provides a timeline of Russian history, links to other related sites,
lesson plans for teachers, as well as both a glossary of terms and a bibliography
of relevant materials.
The "Official
Site of the Russian National Tourist Office" provides online visitors
with a comprehensive history
and culture lesson about Russia, including information on Ancient Russia, the
Mongols and the Emergence of Moscow, the Romanovs, Napoleon's Invasion, the
Path to Revolution and the Soviet Era.
Treasures of the Tsars provides a virtual tour of a major exhibition held in St. Petersburg, Florida at the Florida International Museum in January 1995. This site takes you through ten galleries that exhibit artifacts from the Rurik and Romanov dynasties.
The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston presents Jewels of the Romanovs: Treasures of the Russian Imperial Court, a spectacular exhibition of jewels, costumes, paintings, icons and religious artifacts celebrating the Romanov dynasty from the 18th century to the dynasty's end in 1917. Jewels of the Romanovs marks the first time such an extensive selection of the crown jewels has left Russia. This Web site takes the visitor on a tour of highlights of the exhibition.

The Faberge Experience: Art and History site provides illustrations and text for those interested in exploring the works of the House of Faberge in their social and historical context. The eggs are each unique, with intricate designs created with precious metals and gems. Though small, the eggs are dazzling to behold. The significance of these minature masterworks goes far beyond sheer beauty and workmanship. There are insights into late Imperial Russian religion and politics, touching glimpses into the private lives of the family of the last "Czar and Autocrat of All the Russias," and a whimsical charm that grabs one's attention and affection.

The Alexander Palace Web site provides an online tour of Alexander Palace, the home of Nicholas II, the last Tsar of Russia.
