Welcome to ARTSFORUM, the listserv for the National Forum on Careers in the Arts for People with Disabilities. (Listservs are electronic mailing lists which enable you to communicate via e-mail with a group of people interested in a given topic.) The purpose of this listserv is to create a dialogue on the forum’s three goals:
The Forum’s planning committee also encourages listserv participants to address issues related to training, funding, and jobs in the arts for people with disabilities. For additional background information, please review the Forum’s Concept Papers. You should also refer to the Forum’s Agenda to see panel and breakout session topics.
- assessing the state of education and career opportunities in the arts for people with disabilities;
- identifying strategies to overcome obstacles; and
- finding ways to advance arts careers for people with disabilities.
The planning committee encourages you to identify the barriers and provide constructive recommendations for affecting change. The Forum staff will summarize input provided on the listserv and share it with Forum participants in June.

How do I Join the ARTSFORUM Listserv?
You can subscribe to the ARTSFORUM listserv (for free) by sending a properly formatted e-mail to the ARTSEDGE listprocessor. The listprocessor will automatically add your e-mail address to the list.To subscribe, send an e-mail to:
listserv@artsedge.kennedy-center.org with the following as the body of your message:
subscribe ARTSFORUM your name
(example: subscribe ARTSFORUM John Smith) Be sure to deactivate signature files before sending your subscribe message.
How do I Send a Message to the ARTSFORUM Listserv?
To send a message to the ARTSFORUM listserv, address your e-mail to:
artsforum@artsedge.kennedy-center.org Your message will be received by every person subscribed to the list. You may send messages to a listserv even if you are not subscribed to that listserv, but unless respondents reply to your message privately, you will not see the replies unless you are a member of the list.
How do I Unsubscribe from the ARTSFORUM Listserv?
You may unsubscribe from the ARTSFORUM listserv at any time simply by sending a properly formatted e-mail to the ARTSEDGE list processor. The listprocessor will automatically remove your e-mail address from the list. To unsubscribe, send an e-mail to:
listserv@artsedge.kennedy-center.org with the following as the body of your message:
unsubscribe ARTSFORUM You do not need to type your name after the listserv name (as you must do when subscribing). Be sure to deactivate signature files before sending your unsubscribe message.
