Biographies:
John D. Kemp


John D. Kemp, a lawyer and expert on disability issues and services, is President and CEO for Very Special Arts. Prior to Very Special Arts, Kemp was Executive Director of United Cerebral Palsy Associations, Inc. (UCPA). Born with a disability, Kemp uses four prostheses, and is one of only a few executives in his field who has personal experience with a disability. Before joining UCPA, Kemp was General Counsel and Vice President-Development for the National Easter Seal Society. Kemp also managed a law firm that advised companies on state and federal civil rights, employment and education laws, and policies regarding persons with disabilities. Kemp & Young, Inc. developed management training programs in addition to offering consulting services and editing and publishing Disability & Employment Reporter, a monthly legal and legislative newsletter for employers.
