Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan is the most famous Qawwali musician of all time. His music was unique because of the way he blended Qawwali music with Western sounds. Eddie Vedder, the lead singer of the American rock band Pearl Jam, was inspired by the spirituality of Nusrat’s music. In 1995, the two collaborated on the soundtrack to the film Dead Man Walking. Nusrat’s music has been incorporated into many films in America and around the world.
