We went to a pearl shop in Tokyo today. Pearls are famous in China and Japan. They are very good quality, but they are very expensive. My mom's friend bought some pearl earrings, but my mom did not buy anything yet. Then we went back to the hotel. In the afternoon, we went to a reception for the orchestra members and their guests, held at the residence of the Ambassador of the United States, Thomas Foley. He has a very big and lovely house. Later, I went to a small store in the lobby of the hotel. The store has a small selection of almost anything. I got two packets of origami paper, some beautiful Japanese bookmarks, and a "cup and ball" game. Only one more full day in Tokyo until I go back to the USA!
